On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, the Mr.Goodfish program and Auchan Retail France signed a partnership agreement at Nausicaa during a press conference organized for the event. In line with its commitments to quality, health, and local products, and as a socially responsible company, Auchan Retail France will now rely on Mr.Goodfish’s responsible and sustainable recommendations to promote ethical consumption of aquaculture products among consumers. By partnering with a major retailer, the European Mr.Goodfish program—launched by Nausicaa, the National Sea Center in Boulogne-sur-Mer, and initiated by the World Ocean Network—reaches a new milestone in its commitment.
In the seafood section of all Auchan stores in France, consumers will now be able to choose their aquaculture products based on expert advice from Auchan’s seafood teams and thanks to Mr.Goodfish signage highlighting recommended products according to three Mr.Goodfish eligibility criteria:
● Feed
● Farming practices
● Environmental impact
This partnership between Auchan Retail France and Mr.Goodfish reaffirms Auchan Retail France’s long-standing commitment to responsible, environmentally friendly fish trade that supports the renewal of resources. It builds on the creation of a responsible fish farming supply chain, launched last October in partnership with InnovaFeed—an innovator in the breeding and processing of insects for farmed fish—which is working toward even more responsible and sustainable aquaculture.
