Mr.Goodfish 3.0: Co-creating solutions for sustainable seafood consumption
Building on the success of Mr.Goodfish, Mr.Goodfish 3.0 aims to raise awareness about responsible consumption of seafood, freshwater fish, and aquaculture products by improving and expanding the Mr.Goodfish app as part of an EU-wide awareness campaign.
The application will be part of an ecosystem of tools and activities that will be co-created by stakeholders in three Pilot Sites and replicated in two Replication Sites, each representing up to two of the following major European marine or freshwater basins: the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea and the English Channel, the Baltic Sea, the Arctic Ocean, the Black Sea, and the Danube River.
The project is funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program and the EU’s “Restoring Our Oceans and Waters,” which aims to protect and restore the health of Europe’s oceans and freshwater through research and innovation, citizen engagement, and investments in the blue economy, with a target date of 2030. Mr.Goodfish 3.0 also builds on other well-established initiatives such as the European Union’s #TasteTheOcean campaign.
