Association Baie de Somme Zéro Carbone

Le Crotoy, Hauts-de-France, France

About

Founded by tourism professionals, the Baie de Somme Zéro Carbone association—a nonprofit organization under the French Law of 1901—is a private initiative dedicated to preserving the unique region of the Baie de Somme.

Convinced that only collective action can have a real impact on environmental protection, accommodation providers, restaurant owners, producers, farmers, and providers of sports and cultural activities decided to found the association by jointly drafting and signing a charter of commitment to:
‐ implement responsible and ethical tourism by limiting the impact of their economic activities on the Bay’s ecosystem,
‐ raise awareness among tourists and residents about environmental initiatives in the Baie de Somme,
‐ raise awareness among tourism stakeholders about major climate challenges.

The association now has 46 active members and 8 supporting members. It remains open to anyone who wishes to join their efforts.

Members remain committed to promoting responsible tourism and making their professional activities more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Through concrete actions, members of the BSZC network commit to:
- acting in accordance with the association’s charter,
- sharing best practices and opportunities through collective intelligence.
- engage in research by forming partnerships with universities, supervising master’s-level internships, and organizing conferences open to all.
- develop projects and events to raise public awareness and foster cooperation among local stakeholders, particularly to expand the impact of short supply chains and eco-mobility.
