Description
The bogue is a species of marine fish in the Sparidae family. It has an elongated, oval-shaped body and is primarily silvery in color, with a darker back and yellowish or bluish iridescence. It grows to a maximum length of 25 to 36 cm as an adult.
Habitat
It lives above the continental shelf at depths of up to 490 meters. It is most abundant in the first 100 meters.
Distribution
The species is widespread in both the eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
